Landing at White Falls

This level has two easter eggs as well as a few interesting models and scripted actions, an enigma, and a tricky little strategy that could save you some trouble.

As this level begins we see Alric standing aboard the Vigilance. I'll save you another set of screenshots of it.

As you play, these huge cannons will fire across the map.

Most of the time they will hit the shore, or land in the water with a great splash like this.

Now those cannons are controlled by Ghols like these. When you enter the fort and attack them, they will throw things at you.

But with a little luck, you can position a Berserk like so and make the Ghols throw some explosive implement against the wall, which will bounce back and kill them, leaving one cannon unmanned. Do this twice and you can win with very little difficulty.

But should you lose, Alric will eventually meet his doom with a cannonball at his feet.

Poor Alric.

Now, on to the real easter eggs. (Thanks to Ares for reminding me of these). See that ledge near the waterfall? Notice how there is nothing standing on it. (Also notice the beachball down below it - that's our first easter egg).

But just seconds later, there appears a Dwarf! What's that he's throwing?

Gasp! He pushes another Dwarf over the falls!

...and then vanishes!

But wait! From a better angle down below, this apparent victim can be seen heading nicely down into the water! Oh! It's the Dwarven Diving Championship!

Perfect landing! Almost no splash!

And last but not least, that enigma. Visible in Loathing is this zerk standing on the bow of the Vigilance. He never appears in the game, and does nothing as far as I can tell. What's he there for?
