Myth.Bungie.Org Redesign { Gholsbane }

Don't adjust your set, what you're seeing is the brand new design of myth.bungie.org. Obviously...

You'll probably notice if you start exploring the site that most of it is still sporting the old look. This will slowly change as we get the chance to update each section, but we thought the front page at least could do with some spicing up.

You might also notice that our new sidebar (wow, such technology) lists a brand new section for m.b.o: Fan Fiction. So if you ever had a journal entry or a piece of Myth based prose you wanted to share, step right up and submit it, and rest assured that it won't be months before anything is done about it. You can also post comments to pieces that have already been submitted.

Note: while we're confident the system works and has been put through its paces, there's still the possibility of bugs or errors cropping up. If you encounter anything that suggests a slip up, make sure you send an email so we can get it fixed.

This design has been in the works for a while now and quite a bit of effort has gone into making the various sections of the site better accessible from the front page. We hope you enjoy the fresh look and bear with us while we embark on the conversion of the rest of the site.

Special thanks to Claude "Wu" Errera, b.org bigwig and general dude, for help getting this new design sorted and the old news rebuilt. We love you Louis!

Some New 'Stuff' for the Archives { Zandervix }

A huge thanks to Total Codex (Yes! He's still alive!). A few weeks back he sent me a few more items to add to our ever growing archive of lost treasures, which I hope to have a page for at some point. For now, search the last couple months of news for the previous items.

Anyhoo, the first thing he sent me was the TroSong, which he had rescued from the Myth II Handbook sight a good while back. I had actually forgotten about the TroSong. I think maybe I blocked it out from memory. When you hear it, you'll understand why. And probably go, "WTF?!" I know I do every time. Shoot me an e-mail me if you know the author.

Next up is a BNet Admin FAQ. This is supposedly a FAQ given to all Bnet admins in the latter days of BungieNet. The author is unknown, and as yet, the document is unverified. But I say, who cares, right? It seems kosher enough. Enjoy!

New Myth Goodies at Bungie.net { Gholsbane }

Well, some of you should be aware that Bungie recently relaunched their official and community portals into a new fusion of fancy graphics and flashing lights. Amidst the blinding glare, some pretty sweet new Myth content has surfaced.

The long neglected Myth product page received some love in the form of new hi-res versions of some old concept art and prints in the gallery, as well as 5 fancy new wallpapers made by Zoe (Bungie's contract artist responsible for most of the new site's visuals) again in gorgeous hi resolution. Check em out, and explore the rest of the new site while you're at it.

Myth II 1.5 Public Beta 1 Released! { Gholsbane }

Project Magma have been working hard over the past few months on a new update the Myth II. Now is your chance to see the result of this work and have your say on any outstanding issues you've had with Myth that haven't been adressed.

Go check out the Myth II 1.5 project page now to download this first public beta and make sure to go back to the bug tracker to report any issues you might find with the update. A list of updates [.pdf] has also been made available.

We encourage you all to adopt this update over 1.4.4 since–although it's a beta–it has been thoroughly tested already and boasts countless bug fixes over 1.4.4 already. If everyone adopts quickly, the problem of red games can be minimised, since 1.4.4 is incompatible with the 1.5 patch.

Enjoy the update and have fun!

New [Old] Movie Added { Zandervix }

Thanks to cap for posting about this in the MariusNet forums so I knew where to find it. I've added 'Dud Wight' to our server. This was the winner in Deathwhore's Myth II humor contest; and was created by Tony "Ratboy" Walsh. You can pick up the zip file right here.
