Asylum Night News
Brought to you by Duckyjo

Febuary 20, 2000
Duckyjo says:
First, the good news. AN 17 was a success, depending on how you look at it. The plug caused a few problems, but nothing too spectacular. Lots of for improvement, but that's what betas are for, right? Well it was fun, at any rate. We tested, broke, OOSed, and caused death and destruction. What more can a crazy person want?

Now the bad news. Well, it may not be bad for many of you, but I'll just call it bad anyway. At AN 18, Duckyjo will be at home with his friends, playing some RPG's, so he won't be able to make it. At AN 19, he will be celebrating his B-day with his friends, so he won't be able to make it. At AN 20, he will be in the nation just south of here, so he won't be able to make it. At AN 21 and 22 and 23 he will be with his friends again. So I just need to say that I'll be gone for quite some time. Forrest, Silicon Dream, and other designated Asylumers will be taking over for me in that time. Good luck and Happy Carnage to you all.

Forrest says:
Ok, it's time for some revisionist history.

What we called AN14 was actually AN13. Thus, AN15 was AN14, AN16 was AN15, and tonight was AN16. I've gone through and altered all the files to reflect this.

And also, despite what it may look like, this is NOT my first time posting news! The first two times I did during winter vacation, Duckyjo uploaded over my updates. The second time, last week, got erased during the recent B.org hiccups, when things had to be restored from a 3-days-out-of-date backup. Seems the fates are conspiring against me ever keeping any posts up here.

Febuary 3, 2000
Duckyjo says:
It's a whole new month, and Forrest's sent me the filmz and reportz for AN 15. Go look at the files page to see them. I'm too lazy to put up a link, so go there manually. And don't whine to me about it.

January 31, 2000
Duckyjo says:
I updated the eRPG rules, so they are much cooler now. Willy's done a very nice job at making that game. I'd like to remind all of you how much work actually goes into creating a role-playing system like that. It is really no small feat. Okay, where was I? Oh yes- I also saved the new rules zip file with the rules still in Word 97 format, so maybe you should all try to retry it. It may even work this time! I am also adding a link to the eRPG section to the bottom of this page.

January 30, 2000
Duckyjo says:
Well then. The newest rules to Willy's eRPG are now being posted in HTML format! Go check them out if you can't see them on your own word processor. And remember, the first character gets a giant noodle! You can also see his Character Sheet just in case you need to make a character.

January 28, 2000
Duckyjo says:
I am posting the newest version of Willy's eRPG rules. This one includes Willy's rules, character sheet, and... well, nothing else. But that's more than enough. I should read it soon, so I will make this short so you can read it. By the way, I'm adding the Shadow of the Mountain level to AN map standard. I'm not sure if all of you have access to it, but it could be useful later on.

January 23, 2000
Duckyjo says:
That was possibly the wierdest Asylum Night I have ever experienced. After discussing whether there should be any time changes for Asylum Night, we decided to play a game of Morte Della Luna. We lost, and then lost again, and then... Ducky had to leave, and then wierd things happened. So before I've read the report, I'm just going to say that things seemed a bit hectic. Sorry. Next, there will be no time changes for Asylum Night. If not everyone can go for the same time, then we'll have to stay with 6:00 PM EST.

With that said, I'm adding William Wallace's eRPG rules to this webpage so that all of you can look at them. Soon I may even make a little page for the RPG. Imagine that! It's own little insane domain! So until next time, Happy Asyluming!

January 15, 200
Duckyjo says:
So the next Asylum Night has ended. Quite a success, I must say. Soon, though, everything will be set right. To all those who were there, I'm sorry about that last little bit on the very end of the last game. Ducky's comp crashed out of the endgame screen, so he had to leave. So until next time, CRAZY IS GOOD!

January 10, 200
Duckyjo says:
I'm putting a new page up for the Asylum Night. It includes the map standard and name tag stuff, so.... go check it out. Nothing much so it wont hurt to read it. Unless of course, you happen to be ..... uh, never mind.

January 8, 200
Duckyjo says:
That was one of the coolest Asylum Nights in a while. Maybe it's just because I haven't been in one for a while, but we all had fun, completed the Morte Della Luna solo level, and discussed cool theories. LONG LIVE THE ASYLUM!!!

January 6, 2000000000
Duckyjo says:
So, uh, stuff is happening. Cool. GURPS Myth is nifty. I am still insane. Anything?

December 12, 1999
Duckyjo says:
Good news everyone! The last Asylum Night was productive! First of all we established an Asylum Night map standard. Well, actually we didn't. But we did come up with the idea that there should be one. Next we played lots of games. And we won a few.

The bad news is that Ducky is going to be gone for the next three Asylum Nights. That's not bad news for Ducky, though. He's going on vacation! That means fun!

EMAIL ME for info on everything. All Asylum Nighters should email me sometime this week to figure out what's gonna happen during these next few weeks for Asylum Night.

December 4, 1999
Duckyjo says:
Wow. That was fun. Asylum Night 7 has come and gone. Sigh, it seems as if the weeks pass too quickly. I've been told that's how it works for schizophrenics. Hmmmm, makes you wonder doesn't it? Stop wasting your time. Go get those films and reports!

December 2, 1999
Duckyjo says:
EEEK!!! The end is near! The millenium is only 29.5 days away! It's time to get the bomb shelter!!! Oh yeah, and by the way: We'll be trying some CoD for the next Asylum Night.

November 29, 1999
Duckyjo says:
I'm so happy to be back! I had a happy insane Thanksgiving. Did you?

Okay, enough of that. As far as I know, in my absence only one Asylum Night happened. That will be Asylum Night 6. If somebody could get that report to me along with some FILMZ, I would be eternally thankful.... Well, maybe not eternally.

November 16, 1999
Duckyjo says:
CHIMERA ROCKS!!! That's about all for now. If you can get all 90 megs of it before Asylum Night, you're all set. Otherwise you'd better get your butt moving. It's gonna rock. Chimera is truly a work of art.

Next Asylum Night will be hosted by whoever can. I will be gone on a well deserved vacation. So there. So have fun with Chimera, and send me some reports and films. Have fun everybody!

November 13, 1999
Duckyjo says:
WOW. That was cool. We couldn't manage to get the Watcher conversion to work, but we managed to do some other really stupid things. The videos are spectacular, and the discussions were pretty wierd. Go find them!

Just in time for this Asylum Night, I got the special beta plug from Milk Man. We're gonna use it tonight, so Go Get It! Sorry. The link is gone for reasons of national security.

I'm not going to keep this file up on this page very long, so hurry your insane arse up!

November 11, 1999
Duckyjo says:
After about a half a week, I finally have the complete collection of Asylum Night 4. Wow! So take a look at those wacky poachers, and the Deceiver as they go nuts.

Onto other news, after this coming Asylum Night, I'm going to be going on vacation yet again. God I love the system... Anyway, unless Blackhand still wants to, you can try to capture my attention and try to be the next Asylum Night host. Peace to all you loonies!

November 3, 1999
Duckyjo says:
Wow, look at that. It's a new month. And to kick it off, Ducky's going on vacation. Blackhand will be hosting the next Asylum Night, so have fun all of you. Don't forget to tell those who missed out how it went.

In other news, I've taken some of these old news posts and stuck them on the old news page. Go check it out.

I'm also making a plugin for almost no reason. It'll work in single player so we may use it for some Asylum Night.

October 31, 1999
Duckyjo says:
WOOOWOOO! We made the big time BAY-BEE! Forrest, a fellow Asylum Inmate has posted our latest binge of unskilled playing on Myth Master Central. Apparently, we completely lacked skill, but made up for it with style. Go check it out. As I said:

WE MADE THE BIG TIME!

October 30, 1999
Duckyjo says:
Asylum Night 3 has passed. Scary, huh? Well, the report will be up at some point tonight, and the films are already up. It was a not so intellectual Asylum Night this time. We needed a break and we had fun. Unfortunately, I will not be around next Saturday. That means I'm not going to host Asylum Night. Email me if you want to host the Asylum Night next weekend.

October 28, 1999
Duckyjo says:
I have been thinking of adding a "what is the Asylum Night" part to the index page here. I'll get working on that as soon as my laziness recedes. I also added a name onto the part above here about the Asylum itself. Blackhand wanted me to add his name so much...

October 26, 1999
Duckyjo says:
I updated this page again. Obviously there are no new Asylum Night films or reports. The next Asylum Night isn't going to be around for another four days. So, I just found a way to improve the look of this little news section. What do you think?

Another topic that I just wanted to bring up is what should we do for the next Asylum Night. We are running out of single player maps to play. We could use the original Solo campaign, or Broken Cycle, or Alpha Guard. The list goes on. Give me some ideas.

October 25, 1999
Duckyjo says:
REJOICE. The Asylum Night official web page is up and running. Isn't that cool? If you browse around on the page, I bet you will find a few things that are not quite right with it. If you find any problems, then tell me.

I will update the news section here whenever something happens. That's usually just going to be every saturday night, but I'm sure more stuff will happen.

October 23, 1999
Duckyjo says:
The second Asylum Night went by successfully! Even more successful than the first one, in fact. There were a total of eight players, and we chatted for over 30 minutes and came up with some new ideas.
Highlights of the night: We had a short discussion on who was more powerful (Deceiver or Watcher), and Ares pointed out very interesting parts of Arthurian legend that contained the origin of some of the character names in Myth.

October 22, 1999
Duckyjo says:
I woke up early today to keep up my work on this page. I am almost getting the hang of these tables. Maybe I'll think of something new to put on this page today. Almost missed my first class today because of HTML.

October 21, 1999
Duckyjo says:
I finally started construction of this page. I really need to learn more about HTML. Soon, the page will be available to the general public. I got Blackjack 7 to edit one of the Myth: TFL pregame pictures into the Asylum Night logo. If you look hard enough you can actually tell that he made the logo.

Found anything we've missed? Got a theory that fits? Have a correction to make?
Please post it in The Asylum so others can add their ideas and thoughts.
