10,000 FACES OF MYTH

As much as I liked to be appreciated for my grasp of the minutiae, there is a point where even I have to stand back and separate myself from the flood of easter eggs I receive and question my sanity. The easter eggs which are a particularly distressing burden to me are faces embedded in landscapes.

After looking at the 77th such submission I have realized that Bungie will produce new maps faster than I could conceivable document all the little images, faces, cartoons, and connect-the-dot madness which the maps are rife with. This is compounded by the fact that many times someone will send me a screenshot saying:

If you look in the upper right hand corner and squint while shaking your monitor horizontally you will see that next to the tree is a picture of Ryan Martell's big toe (right foot)!

And I look at it and all I see is the frown that my ex-mother-in-law always had whenever she saw me.

So I have taken matters into my own hand and created guidelines for this kind of easter egg. Hopefully, this will allow me a modicum of peace before I die. They are at the bottom of the page.

Without further ado, here is a list of faces and assorted-other somewhat-trivial images which can be found in the maps. Sorry, no fancy graphics, no humours comments, just the pix I am given (spelled the way they were given to me, too).

The Five Champions This map can produce significant psychosis!

Submission Guidelines

  • Decide if you have a really good image, a mediocre image, or a somewhat questionable image (like any of the above).
  • If, and only if, it is a good image, send in a small screenshot or detailed instructions on how to find it. If it passes our criteria then we will make our own screenshots and post it.
  • If it is not a really good image, then make a screenshot and edit, enhance, and otherwise fiddle with it to make it the way you want it to look. What you submit is what we will post. If we decided it deserves its own page we will redo it.
  • Name it something short and save the screenshot as a GIF or JPG.
  • Send it in with the name of the level it can be found on, your name, and anything you want your name to link to.
  • Be patient. It may take some time before it shows up on the site.

Legends and Lore is really Forrest's baby, though Gholsbane probably does more work on it nowadays. It also contains a lot of work from the Myth Nontoxic days whose exact authors have been lost or forgotten. Some of these lemurs include Joshstar, Orange, Lacrymosa, and poena.dare. Original "Journal of the Legion" concept by poena.dare and Hamish Sinclair. Other authors are credited as appropriate in their individual articles.

Myth at Bungie.org is now maintained almost entirely by Gholsbane and Zandervix; Forrest is (theoretically) still around calling the shots when he can be bothered to check his email, and Claude, as always, OWNZ U. Original Nontoxic™ webpage design copyright (c) 1998 by Joshstar; updates and revisions mostly by Forrest. Many thanks to all those old Nontoxic™ munkies - you know who you are.
