Project Magma Releases Dol Baran v2
- [ Zandervix | 13:17 EST ]
Doobie writes:
Dol Baran was originally released by Sandman and IronDuke for both Myth TFL and Myth II SB. The Myth II version included lots of touches to make for a very TFL-like experience.
Dol Baran v2 was made with Myth II 1.4.x in mind so that it can now make use of the built in vTFL feature which means it can now be played in vTFL, Anti-Clump and Myth II styles of gameplay.
This latest incarnation of Dol Baran also features a new solo/co-op, three 5-start FFAs, two large 2-team meshes and a 2 team Special Forces mesh featuring some of the gameplay of the upcoming Special Forces v2 plus a new VC Sniper unit.
Also, there is a (relatively) new page for Scourge of Belial by GHOST® which we hope to release soon, and Khellek's Throne of the Lich King has been added to our 3rd Party Plugins page (under downloads).

Beta For Next Myth III Release
- [ Zandervix | 11:27 EST ]
From MythDev:
Just in time for Thanksgiving and the holiday season, MythDev is please to announce the opening of the public beta period for the next release of Myth III: The Wolf Age.
Version 1.2b1 is now available for download here from MythDev. You can use the download links on the right hand side of this screen or go to the downloads page to get the files you need.
It's important to note that 1.2 is NOT COMPATIBLE with 1.1. There are some tag updates and changes to code that make compatibility impossible at this point. We feel that everyone playing Myth III should update to 1.2b1 as soon as possible to take advantage of performance improvements and new features.
Also, we've posted the Myth III Classic Map Pack archives here for everyone to download. If you would like to download the Myth III classic map packs, you can do so by clicking on any of the following links:

MumboJumbo is Alive
- [ Zandervix | 12:00 EST ]
I'm still not understanding this. Just for kicks, I hit up the MumboJumbo web site, and it appears that they are running again. In fact, it appears that they have been back in business since March! However, it seems that they are limited now to doing arcade-type and card games. There is also no word on their site about what happened in the past, or how they re-started. I also wonder if any from the original Mumbo Jumbo team are currently employed there.

MythDev Developing More Tools
- [ Zandervix | 12:00 EST ]
From MythDev.com:
In the next week, MythDev will begin production on a next generation Myth tool to replace the existing Myth World tools. We're looking for coders who wish to be a part of this GPLed Open Source project to develop a comprehensive Myth Map Making tool. Here are the guidelines for the development:
1. All work will be open source.
2. All coding will be done in C/C++ ONLY.
If you are interested in taking part in the development of this tool, please drop an email to mythtool@mythdev.com. We are going to be ramping up heavily on this. The platforms supported by this tool will depend completely on the people involved in it's construction. Get involved, get on the team, and get excited.

MNet and MythForums Site Downtime
- [ Zandervix | 12:01 EST ]
MariusNet and MythForums sites will be down for a little upgrading starting today at 4:30 PM EST (9:30 PM GMT). At this moment, they are not sure how long it will take. Hopefully no more than a few hours, since they are doing motherboard, cpu, and hard-drive replacements.
This affects the sites ONLY, and not the MariusNet game servers! So play away!

The Mill - Condensed
- [ Zandervix | 11:42 EST ]
Gee, if I didn't know better, I'd say he was trying to flame another fire. If you take a look at Clem's Weblog over at MythDev, you will find his latest entry entitled '.deleted.' The only thing you will find there is this picture of two DVD-R's marked "The Mill: Myth Archives" (disk 1 & 2). I'm curious as to if this is merely to show us there is a disk recorded archive, or to show us that he has it and we don't.
Whatever the case, I have to admit that it burns me a little to see them just sitting there. Unused and non-transferred. Kind of like they are being held hostage, and no ransom note will ever be written. Seems rather pointless to me. I'll go ahead and say it: I'm pissed at the thought of someone having those files and not sharing them. Whatever the motiviations were for taking the Mill down, having those files sit on someone's desk, not to be used or shared, is just plain selfish.
